Untitled Document What happens if a player fails to post?

As an email-based role playing game, the USS Wyvern's story requires the participation of its members in order for the storyline to move forward. If players do not participate, the story becomes stagnant. This is especially true in the case of those players who have elected to take Department Head positions, as their position reflects a level of responsibility to the ship and her crew both in game and out.

If you are unsure which posting requirements you are expected to meet, please see the article on “Posting rules and requirements,” available from the above menu.

“1 post per week”

Players who have characters in Department Head positions are required to post at least one post per week. This can be in the form of a duty post, personal post, or collaboration with another player to produce a joint post. This posting requirement helps to ensure that the game's story continues to flow, and allows those in Department Head positions set an example for less experienced players.

If one of these players fail to submit a post during a posting week, a notice will be emailed to that member informing them that they failed to send a post during the posting week, and he or she loses one “post credit.” When a player accepts a position as a department head character, they are considered to have 0 post credits, and by exceeding their posting requirements for a posting week, they may increase that to a maximum of 1.

If a player's post credit total drops below 0, their status changes to “probation.” An official warning will be sent to the player in question, informing the player of their status in the game, note that no post was received during the previous posting week, and inform the player of how to improve their standing in the game.

If a player on “probation” status fails to post a second week, they will lose the privilege to play a Department Head position. In this case, the player will be encouraged to create a new character with less strenuous posting requirements, and the position will become available for recruitment or promotion purposes. Players who lose Department Head status in this fashion may later reapply for Department Head status at the game leaders' discretion. (The game leaders are Captain Arinea Kadiri, Commander Ro Shio, and Commander Stephanie Lenslow.)

If a player is “out of contact,” and does not communicate with the game's leaders over the course of two or more weeks, the game leaders reserve the right to remove that player from the game for a lack of participation.
